![]() I recommend that you backup all your data files, documents, spreadsheets, music, etc. Any time you manually edit the registry or run an automated registry editor such as a Registry Cleaner, you are treading on thin ice. Also be sure and create a backup of the registry with Abexo before using its cleanup feature. If the MBAM program that Bugbatter recommends doesn't fix your problem and you cannot remove Star Downloader using its Uninstall program or Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, you may have to resort to a "forced" removal of its registry entries by first deleting it in the Program Files subdirectory and then using a registry cleaner such as Abexo Free Registry cleaner which is available from WARNING: Create a System Restore Point BEFORE trying this little "hack" trick. The end result appears to Windows Installer as a corrupted download and that is what triggers the error message. Since the download must complete for the checksum to calculate correctly, it is not actually complete until Star Downloader recombines the pieces. This I suspect is where Star Downloader creates a problem. If you watch a download's progress from some download mirrors, you will notice that when the download progress bar reaches 99-100% you will see what looks like another file being downloaded or created. Works great with most downloads, but there can be problems with some download mirror sites i.e., the download doesn't recombine completely. Star Downloader achieves its acceleration by splitting the download file into several parts, downloading those parts simultaneously, and then recombining the parts upon completion of the download. Star Downloader could be causing your problem with the AdAware download.
